@WhiteHouse : At the direction of the President, the U.S. military has taken decisive defensive action to protect U.S. personnel abroad by killing Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force, a US-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.
@DefendAtAllCost : The world is officially on notice. We will not allow our people to be attacked no matter where they are in the world. At all cost, we will protect our allies as well.
@bonzeta :How did this protect Americans? All our military and diplomats around the world are now in harm’s way. No diplomacy, no strategy, total chaos. Fools!
@mrsallnut : “We will not allow our people to be attacked no matter where they are in the world.” Except, of course, for American schools, synagogues, farmer’s markets…
@StephanieLoiac4 : Solemeini was a threat for decades. It is good he is dead but why did Trump do this now?? Escalate an already tense situation. I don’t believe any “intelligence” reports unless they made public
@ResistAmerica : Pompeo was as clear as two-day old mud. No rationale. No game plan. No discussions with allies other than Israel. No discussions with Congressional leaders. No plan for dealing with Iran’s government. Pompeo and #IMPOTUS have a hot mess.
@soappman : I call BS! Reinforcements at the embassy were calming things down and Bam. He decides that an air strike that kills Solemeini is proportionate? No, He does not give a rats a$$ what the repercussions will be just as long as it creates a diversion from his impeachment.
@munoz_maribeth :POMPEO, TODAY: “People not only in Iraq, but in Iran, will view the American action last night as giving them freedom”
#GOP 2003: “Once Iraqi people see Saddam & those around him removed from power, they’ll welcome freedom, they’ll be a liberated ppl” **
@Colo_Spy : Trump acted impulsively with no plan for what is to come. He is ignorant and incompetent. It’s no wonder that no world leader is condoning Trump’s actions. He has not saved American lives. He is causing an escalation of tensions and may contribute to more US deaths.
@TWIT_ANTHONY : Lord hear our Prayer. Brother Donald, we are with You, and all that you say and do. Never straying from Your MAGA. Lord give Him the strength to maintain World Peace, and stay elected for all of eternity. AMEN
@DeanObeidallah: Trump administration tells us that #Soleimani was plotting attacks. #Soleimani was not the leader of a small terrorist cell- he is part of Iranian military that is estimated at over 500,000 and in a nation of over 80 million. Why would killing one person stop any attacks?!
@OverpaidA: Soleimani wasn’t a “foreign military leader”; he was leader of a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, and therefore is fair game.
@SteveLAdams : He was a serving member of of Sovereign Nation’s armed forces. That makes it an Assassination and an illegal Declaration of War.
@DaveDemocracy : its not a game – many more people will die because of this.
@HK47_Actual : Clarification: He started a war and likely put the embassy in even worse danger. And did exactly what he accused Obama of wanting to do…
@JanetSlaton2 : This is not leadership. America we can do better. #VoteBlue2020
@LionheartNYC: We can appreciate his death without approving of the methods used to bring about his demise. Assassination of foreign military leaders is a violation of US law. Not having a plan to deal with the blowback is even worse.
@heartshapedlife : Crazy talk. Endless pointless Middle East wars started decades ago by proxy Presidents the American people did not choose but were given. It’s all ending because of President Trump. Thank him that our country now has a future
@MahaleyKellye: You don’t realize it yet, but we are in bigger trouble than you think. Trump has pissed off all our allies, so trying to form a coalition is going to be met with raucous laughter. Unfortunately it will be almost all American lives on the line.
@o2bnobx : Putin learned his Reagan lesson well: We forced him into bankruptcy trying to keep up with an arms race. He’s using Iran and North Korea to drive us into a bankrupting never ending war cycle
@cstarch52 : You realize, don’t you, heartshaped, that your pal, @realDonaldTrump has just STARTED another war. All to deflect from his impeachment. All while committing more impeachable acts->Striking w/o consulting Congress. #ImpeachNowRemove.
@Thomas00825371 : Look way before Trump for the hot bed in the middle East. I was there fighting 2001-2005. Trump wasn’t responsible for that nor anything else prior to him being elected. These things were set in motion long ago. “We” elected Trump “we”. Democracy
@hughhewitt: No apologies. No regrets. Astonishing that some in the American political elite are forgetting that Solemeini was a war criminal, the man who directed Assad’s genocide. @realDonaldTrump acted and what he did was righteous.
@Liz_Wheeler: Soleimani killed 603 American servicemembers. Soleimani maimed thousands more with IEDs. Soleimani approved the attack on the U.S. Embassy. He was plotting to kill more Americans. Yes he deserves to be dead. If you’re lamenting his death, you hate Trump more than a terrorist.
@JesseKellyDC: If you’ve been to a VA hospital in recent years and seen a young man missing limbs, there’s a reasonable chance Qasem Soleimani is responsible for it. He’s unquestionably an enemy of America and I’m glad he’s dead and I’m bummed it was a quick death.
@kreerpro : For someone who wants out of the Middle East, Trump just took out a long-term lease. As the great philosopher, Mike Tyson, opined “Everybody’s got a plan until they get hit in the mouth.” The punch is coming.
@magicbe84995902 : As a person living in the Middle East I wish we never had oil and gas.
I wish we had no resources
I wish we were not the world’s highway of energy.
But we had security, love and peace
